This course is an evolution of Basic Cybersecurity for Busy People with a particular focus on cybersecurity in the FinTech world, including the banking sector.
Not a day goes by without another person, organisation or company falling victim to some form of cybercrime. Fortunately, some of the worst threats are also the easiest to prevent.
This course demystifies the basics of cybersecurity and helps you do simple things to protect yourself, your business and your family from the most common and dangerous threats that you will meet in the digital world.
We begin with an introduction to cybersecurity and examine the background to cybersecurity threats, Then we explore the common threats, and the reasons for their existence. We will focus on defence against the most likely threats, and look at some of the behaviours and technologies that can be used for protection. We finish up with a look at career opportunities in cybersecurity.
With the FinTech component we expand the course to include a brief history of FinTech and its special cybersecurity needs. We look at certifications used in FinTech and how they have improved over time, as well as some of the common architectures used to provide good security by design. There will be emphasis on the PCI certifications, such as PCI DSS, PCI PIN, and others. In addition, we will use more FinTech relevant cases and examples throughout the course.
